Osaka: White Castle

Statement:
The Japanese sense of  the aesthetic was found wherever one looked, even underfoot. I “collected” manhole covers with ecstatic pleasure, using this one depicting the ancient white castle in Osaka (computer-enhanced). The sculpted pines were found in a Sakai City artist’s garden and the stone fence and Buddha were taken from the sacred cemetery atop My. Koya-San. These combined elements, collaged in layers, describe my “altered consciousness”.
